Peter grew up in Hartlepool and leaned to play in the Salvation Army at the age of 10. He played with Hartlepool Silver Band, Easington Colliery and GT Group Peterlee before moving to London for a short time where he played with the Fulham Band.
Since then he has performed with, amongst others, Fishburn ; Chester Le Street; Lockwood ; York Railway ; Shepherd Group ; Yorkshire Co-Op ; Harrogate ; Ripon and Garforth.
In 1994 he moved to Ripon to study at University and met his wife Rachael. They were married in 2000 and have two children, Luke and Amelia.
Peter qualified as a music teacher and taught in nearby Harrogate and Boroughbridge before being made redundant.

Most Embarrassing Banding Moment : When taking part in the French Open packed his socks and underwear in his shoes and then left home with his wife’s shoes and trousers !!!! Discovering in France that he had no concert shoes, trousers or underwear – a quick trip to the local Hypermarket saved the day !!!!!!
