After an early start at the bandroom in Grange Moor waiting for the draw Lofthouse were drawn 9th and due to perform around midday. Fortunately everyone found their way and reached Huddersfield Town Hall on time if a little sleepy! As always many band members bumped into friends and acquaintances from other bands, sharing the latest gossip and wishing good luck to everyone.
The performance itself was solid with some encouraging comments and the band gave it their all. It seems the field was particularly tight this year with some excellent bands and generally great performances. Whilst we were proud and largely matched the performance of those around us the result wasn’t quite what we hoped with an 8th place finish.
Onwards and upwards and we go again!
